Cream and I went to GO Tour in LA twice, for Sinnoh and Unova. We think it's the best in-person Pokémon GO event of the year.
Pokémon GO Tour Los Angeles 2027: My Quick Answer
- When: Friday, February 19, to Sunday, February 21, 2027.
- Where: the venue isn't announced yet. The Rose Bowl in Pasadena hosted the last three LA GO Tours.
- Tickets: not on sale yet. The last three years, they were announced in late November with a $25 early-bird price, then $30 from January.
- What to buy: one park day, citywide days for the other two, and both add-ons.
- Our plan: Friday in the city, Saturday at the park, Sunday in the city.
- Where to stay: Santa Monica. Little Tokyo if Santa Monica costs too much. Pasadena only if you're just coming for the park day.
- Budget: about $670 to $800 each for three days, sharing a room, before flights and hotel tax. The hotel is the biggest cost.
Still need a hotel? We'd book one of these three.

GO Tour LA 2027: What We Know So Far
GO Tour 2027 celebrates the Alola region, from the Pokémon Sun and Moon games. The in-person events run Friday, February 19, to Sunday, February 21, in two cities: Los Angeles and Kaohsiung, Taiwan. If you can't travel, a global in-game event follows on February 27 and 28.
The Los Angeles venue hasn't been named. Tickets and the full details come "next Season," according to the announcement.
All three LA GO Tours so far were in Pasadena, at the Rose Bowl. In 2026, the Pokémon GO Tour in Pasadena filled Rose Bowl Stadium and the Brookside Golf Course next door. A fourth year there is likely, but it's not confirmed. We'll update this guide the day the venue and tickets are announced.
| Year | GO Tour | Venue | Dates |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2024 | Sinnoh | Rose Bowl Stadium, Pasadena | Saturday and Sunday, Feb 17 to 18 |
| 2025 | Unova | Rose Bowl Stadium, Pasadena | Friday to Sunday, Feb 21 to 23 |
| 2026 | Kalos | Rose Bowl Stadium, Pasadena | Friday to Sunday, Feb 20 to 22 |
| 2027 | Alola | Not announced yet | Friday to Sunday, Feb 19 to 21 |
Sinnoh ran on two days in 2024, with park play from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Unova and Kalos ran on three. Alola keeps the three-day weekend.

GO Tour LA Tickets and Add-Ons
Your ticket is for one day. It locks in the date, the time you can start playing, and your first habitat. You can't play the park before that time. On your ticket day you also get the event bonuses out in the city. In 2025, that citywide play covered Los Angeles and Orange County.
These are the add-ons from the last LA GO Tours. Expect most of them back for Alola.
| Ticket or add-on | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| One-day ticket | $30 in 2026, $25 early bird | Your park day, plus citywide bonuses that day |
| Citywide Gameplay day | $20 per day in 2024 | Another day of city bonuses, no park |
| Raid Lover | $15 in 2026 | Up to 18 daily Raid Passes from Gyms, bonus raid XP and Candy |
| Egg-thusiast | $15 in 2026 | A quarter of the hatch distance, triple hatch XP, Candy, and Stardust |
| Mega Night | $20 in 2026 | Two hours of Mega Raids in the stadium after the park closes |
The 2026 ticket page didn't list a price for citywide days. In 2024, they were $20 each.3
We buy everything: the park day, a citywide day for each of the other two days, and both add-ons. Next to an LA hotel, they're the smallest line in the budget.
When Do GO Tour LA Tickets Go on Sale?
For the last three LA GO Tours, tickets were announced in the last week of November. Sinnoh tickets were on sale by November 29, 2023, and Unova tickets by November 27, 2024. Kalos and its prices were announced on November 26, 2025. Each year, the $25 early-bird price ran until December 31.
We buy tickets the minute they open. You get the day you want, and the early-bird price. In our experience the tickets usually sell out, and Saturday goes first. Not every year sold out, though: two days before Kalos in 2026, a few tickets were still on sale.
How to Buy GO Tour LA Tickets
- Open the ticket shop. Use the Pokémon GO Tour website, or tap the Main Menu in the app, then Events.
- Choose your day and start time. That's Saturday for us.
- Add the add-ons and citywide days. You can also add them after you buy.
- Buying for friends? You need Great Friends status or higher in the game, and every ticket gets assigned before you pay.
Tickets and add-ons are nonrefundable.
If There's an Evening Event
Kalos in 2026 had Mega Night: two hours of Mega Raids inside the stadium from 6 to 8 p.m., for $20 on top of a regular ticket.2 Mega Evolution comes from Kalos, so Mega Night was built for that tour. We don't expect it back for Alola.
If GO Tour adds a similar evening event, do it on your park day. You're already there.
Where to Stay for GO Tour LA
Your base decides how much of the weekend you spend in a car.
Stay in Santa Monica. Two of your three days are city days, and Santa Monica has the best city play we've found. We stayed a month in an Airbnb there during Unova. Compare hotels around Santa Monica Pier.
If Santa Monica prices rule it out, Little Tokyo is good too. It was our base for Sinnoh, at the DoubleTree, and a 10/10 stay. Pasadena makes sense if the park day is your only day. For the whole weekend, we'd skip it. You're only at the park on one of your three days.
Got a week? The global GO Tour weekend comes right after, on February 27 and 28, and we loved sticking around for it in 2025. Every base and its prices are on the GO Tour LA where-to-stay page.
Getting to the Rose Bowl
Friends drove us to the park both years, and getting there was the easy part. How to get to the Rose Bowl covers parking, the Metro, rideshare, and the drive home.
How Much Does GO Tour LA Cost?
LA isn't cheap. Expect your hotel to eat a huge part of your budget.
In 2025, the average GO Tour visitor spent $929 in the LA area. Places to stay, food, and getting around were the biggest parts.4 This is how three days can add up for one person sharing a room.
| What | Per person, 3 days | How we got there |
|---|---|---|
| Tickets | about $95 to $100 | A $25 to $30 park day, two $20 citywide days, and two $15 add-ons |
| Hotel, 3 nights | about $300 to $425, before tax | The US government's hotel allowance for LA County or Santa Monica, split two ways |
| Food | up to about $260 | The US government's meal allowance, three full days |
| Parking | about $17 to $20 | Park-day parking at 2026 prices, split two ways |
| Total | about $670 to $800 | Plus hotel tax, flights, and any evening event |
For hotels and food, we used the US government's travel allowances for February 2027. That's $283 a night for a hotel in Santa Monica and $199 in the rest of LA County, Downtown included, before tax. The meal allowance is $86 a day.56 Park-day parking was $34 prepaid or $40 on the day in 2026.1 GO Tour weekend can cost more than a normal weekend, so book early.
Flying in from abroad? Your phone is your whole event, so sort data first. An Airalo eSIM set up at home has you playing from the arrivals hall.
Bringing Kids to GO Tour LA
Lots of families come, mostly with kids who are a bit older. A parent has to be with them, and the parent needs a ticket too.
The 2026 rules spelled it out. A child playing on a child account needed a parent or guardian along. The adult bought the family's tickets, their own included, with the email on the child's account.1 Check the 2027 rules when they come out.
What to Bring
Our must-haves are a charger, a water bottle, and a phone cooler. You're out all day, and so is your phone. The gear we carry is in our travel shop.
The park has a clear-bag rule, a stroller rule, and limits on batteries and outside food. What to bring to GO Tour covers all of it, plus what to leave at the hotel.
GO Tour LA Planning Timeline
- Now: add your GO Tour friends in the game. Gifting a ticket needs Great Friends, and that takes days of gifts or raids.
- Late November, if the pattern holds: buy tickets the minute they go on sale. Book your hotel the same day.
- By December 31: the last day of the early-bird price, if it runs like 2024 to 2026.
- January: compare flights to Los Angeles and book. Driving? Prepay your parking.
- Event week: read the official plan-your-trip page for the bag rules, and check the habitats.
- Friday: play the city and learn the event.
Our Plan: Friday in the City, Saturday at the Park, Sunday in the City
Saturday is our park day, both years. Most of our friends are in town by then, so meeting up is easy. And it puts a city day on each side of the park.
Friday: Figure Out the Event
Friday is for learning what this year's event is really like. What are the raids like? What's spawning in the wild? Which Field Research is worth chasing? How are the eggs hatching?
The city is usually less busy on Friday, too. It's also when you find the surprises. At Unova in 2025, ours were the Enigma PokéStops: special stops around LA and Orange County with Field Research that ended in an encounter with a special background. They were so cool. I loved those.

Saturday: The Park
Saturday's goal is the research, then raiding, catching, and hatching. You know what to go for, because Friday told you. Our Saturday at the Rose Bowl runs from the morning line to the last raid.
How we split each day is our Catch, Hatch, Raid game plan.
Sunday: The Final Grind
By Sunday, you know exactly what you're missing. "I still need a background shiny of the raid boss." "I still need to hatch one more shiny regional." For me in 2025, it was one more shiny Deerling.
Sunday is the most chill day of the three. It's still the final grind.
A lot of trainers spend Sunday at Disneyland instead, since the 2025 citywide bonuses reached Orange County. We haven't tried it, but it's a popular pick.
Park Day vs City Days
The park day is never the best for spawns and shinies. The city is better for what you really want. The park is still so much fun, and we wouldn't skip it.
On city days, we head to Santa Monica. All the good spots are there, and where we play Pokémon GO in Santa Monica goes stop by stop. Downtown LA plays well too, and there's lots to explore. The LA spots we'd play on a city day are mapped out area by area.
Sinnoh 2024 vs Unova 2025: Our Two GO Tours
GO Tour Sinnoh, 2024: 10/10
Sinnoh was our first in-person event, and you never forget your first. Everything was new and exciting.
The worst part was a little rain in the evening, and it wasn't too bad. That same evening, a surprise Giratina raid showed up that nobody had announced.
Saturday's entry was delayed, so the game added three hours of city play from 5 to 8 p.m. We'd gotten in early, so for us it was bonus time.

GO Tour Unova, 2025: 9/10
Unova was still good. I just can't give both of them a 10.
It had fewer surprises than Sinnoh. But even more of our friends showed up, and we played with a huge group, at the park and all around the city. For playing with other people, it's my favorite event.
The LA wildfires that January scared some people. Nobody was sure the event would still happen. It went ahead, with refunds offered to anyone who couldn't come, and in the end it didn't affect anything for us.

Meeting Friends and Our Community at GO Tour
GO Tour is when our Pokémon GO friends fly in: from LA, Tulsa, Denver, Texas, and all over the US. We plan on Discord and meet up near the entrance.
People who watch our streams come up and say hi, and a lot of them play with us. We want to play with our community. That's what makes it so fun.
You won't be the only one traveling. About 48,000 people came to Unova in 2025. 77% of them came from outside LA, and 9% from abroad.4

Our Verdict on GO Tour LA
LA ranks near the top of every event city we've played, and the city days are why. The shiny rates feel better, the egg pool is good, and the raids are fun. Tokyo still tops it for us. If Japan is next, these are our favorite places to play in Tokyo.
We're waiting on the Alola announcement like everyone else. Alola should be a fun one. GO Fest Japan is the other big event we've played in person, all eight days of it.
