The short version

Some links on this site are affiliate links, so if you book or buy through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We recommend what fits your trip, whether or not we've used it, and say when we have. Sponsored posts, hosted stays, and press trips are always labeled at the start of the article.

Some of the links on this site are affiliate links, and we also use tools that can turn links to travel sites into affiliate links. If you click through and book or buy something, we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. An article with affiliate links says so before the first one.

We recommend what fits a reader's trip, whether or not it's what we did. When we've used something ourselves, we say so. When we haven't, it's because it suits someone we're writing for: we usually take a Grab from the airport, but a family with small children may want a rental car, so we'll point them to a good one.

Amazon Associates Disclosure: Bernie And Cream, LLC is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.

We're open to sponsored posts, hosted stays, and press trips that fit how we travel. Anything paid for, given to us, or hosted is labeled at the start of the article.

On social media, we use #ad or #sponsored, plus the platform's own paid-partnership label where it has one. No one can buy a review or a score, and we only partner with places and brands we'd send a friend to.
